Depending on how you use the service, we may process contact and delivery details, account data, order items, support messages, refund and tracking records, payment status and PayPal transaction references, security logs, device information, preferences, basket data and meal-planning prompts. PayPal handles your payment credentials; we do not receive your PayPal password or full card number.
To stay competitive we collect publicly available market signals: published retail prices and product listings from other UK grocery retailers, public food-trend and recall notices, and public discussion (for example open Reddit communities). This is research about the market, not about you personally — we do not link it to your account, order or browsing. We respect each source's robots.txt and terms, identify ourselves in automated requests, and never bypass authentication, paywalls or CAPTCHA. An AI assistant uses these signals, alongside our sales and stock data, to propose pricing, content and merchandising decisions; human approval is required before any action that publishes content outward, commits spend above a threshold, or responds publicly on our behalf.
We use information to take steps you request and perform an order contract; meet tax, accounting, food-safety and consumer-law duties; protect the service, prevent fraud and establish legal claims where we have a legitimate interest; carry on our business by understanding the market we operate in; and send optional marketing only where consent or another lawful basis applies.
We disclose only what is necessary to service providers such as PayPal, Cloudflare, hosting and security providers, Voyage AI when you deliberately use visual product search, approved suppliers and carriers fulfilling your parcel, professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it. A visual-search image is sent for embedding and is not retained by YummAsia. Suppliers receive only the fulfilment data required for their parcel and may not use it for independent marketing.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we use an adequacy regulation, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism and assess relevant risks.
We retain information only for its purpose and legal obligations. Order, refund and accounting records are normally kept for up to six years after the relevant financial period; routine support and security records may be kept for shorter periods unless a dispute or legal duty requires longer. Access is role-based, the admin service is protected by Cloudflare Access, and secrets stay server-side.
Essential cookies and local storage keep security, basket, checkout-return and session features working. Optional analytics or advertising technology will not load without the consent required by UK law. If live PayPal is unavailable, an explicitly labelled preview order can be stored only in your browser.
Marketing is separate from order and service messages. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact support. Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary order, recall, security or legal notices.
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use. We may need to verify identity. If you have a YummAsia account, you can submit data export or deletion requests yourself from your account area; the [email protected] mailbox remains available for every request. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office; we would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first.
